藏品体系建设：
临沂市博物馆现馆藏文物3万余件，珍贵文物2132件。按质地共分石器、陶器、瓷器、铜器、铜镜、铁器、字画、书籍碑帖、钱币、金银器、骨器、印章、漆器、砚、木器、碑刻、石造像、汉画像石、砖纹、景泰蓝、瓦当、化石等24类别，尤以新石器时代和汉代出土文物以及汉代画像石最为丰富，其大部分来自当地的考古发掘及征集，有着典型的地方特色和较高的研究价值。其中，珍贵的有龙山文化蛋壳黑陶镂空高柄杯、西汉“金缕玉套”、东汉吴白庄汉画像石墓、西晋青瓷胡人骑狮器等馆藏精品，此外，馆藏齐国刀币数量之多，保存之完整，品类之多样，在全国也实属罕见。
Collection system building
At present, there are more than 30,000 cultural relics and 2132 precious relics in Linyi City Museum. By texture, they can be classified into 24 categories：stoneware, pottery, porcelain, brass, bronze mirror, ironware, calligraphy and paintings, books and stone, coins, gold and silver ware, bone implement, seal, lacquerware, inkstone, woodware, inscriptions, stone status, Han dynasty stone relief, brick grain, cloisonne, eaves tile, fossil and etc. Cultural relics from the Neolithic Age and Han dynasty and Han dynasty stone relief are abundant especially. Most of them come from local archaeological excavation and collecting, the typical area character and high research value are well reserved.
Eggshell black pottery hollow cup with high handle from Longshan Culture, jade clothes sewn with gold wire from West Han dynasty, the barbarians riding the lion celadon from the West Jin dynasty are treasures of Linyi City Museum. Besides, Knife money from the State of Qi in our museum are numerous, conserved integrally and virous which is rare in nationwide.
科研与学术：
临沂市博物馆始终重视科学研究工作，努力提高职工的专业理论研究水平。近年来积极承担或合作完成国家、省市级科研项目、课题10余项；积极组织和参与国内外学术活动，主办或承办“临沂吴白庄汉代画像石学术研讨会”等国内学术会议多项；编撰出版了《临沂汉画像石》、《馆藏文物集萃》、《中国洗砚池晋墓》、《王羲之琅琊碑帖》、《沂蒙红色文化概览》等图书和图录，其中《临沂汉画像石》一书获2003年山东省精品图书提名奖；职工在公开出版的期刊、论文集发表的论文总计百余篇。
Scientific research and science:
Linyi City Museum always focuses on scientific research, and devote to improve professional theoretical research level of staffs. Linyi City Museum has completed more than 10 national, provincial and municipal scientific research projects independently or by cooperation. Also, Linyi City Museum organizes and participates in domestic and overseas academic activities, hosts and undertakes several domestic academic conferences like "Wu Baizhuang Han stone relief academic seminar" and published books and photo albums: Han stone relief in Linyi, Collection of Cultural Relics, Jin Tomb in Xiyanchi of China, Rubbing from Stone Inscription of Wang Xizhi in Linyi, the Overview of Red Culture in Yimeng district. The book Han stone relief in Linyi gained the nomination award of "boutique book of Shandong province" in 2003. Staffs have published more than 100 papers in publically published journals.
